Talk / Life / Breaking news / Parents are spending £23bn to support adult children

Bloody hell! I'm living at home with parents, but at least I pay a nominal rent, and would never expect them to pay for things like a car etc.

I sometimes find the way British kids are so desperate to get away from parents/parents so eager to chuck kids out a bit disconcerting, but I can't believe they are willing to carry on paying for things.

The first post on that article on the BBC was spot on, most uni students need financia
l support. There is only so much the student loan will cover.

One of my cousin's education was completely funded by her parents - accommodation, fees, travel, spending money etc.

I don't see why kids need financial support at uni. The average given is just under £7,000, i myself have not received one penny off my mum and i'm doing OK. Just too soft some people.
