Ok, so what would the farmers do with these dairy cows if their milk was no longer required?

I don't think they would keep them as pets lets put it that way.

I can understand the ethical issues around the milk, but one thing that I don't understand is that PETA claim cows are kept in filthy conditions - they live in fields!

It claimed cow's milk had been linked to "juvenile diabetes, allergies, constipation, obesity, and prostate and ovarian cancer".

Erm, that sounds a bit extreme. Evidence please? And who exactly is going to be providing all this milk? Are they going to be vetted so they don't have anything that would contaminate it - diseases, alcohol and other drugs etc. Who is going to regulate that?

PETA really should try doing something a bit more useful instead of these ridiculous stunts

You have just given me an new idea - cow shooting. In archery the targets are stationary, but this takes it to another level with the cows moving.

Need to get in contact with Boris, maybe he can make it an Olympic sport for 2012.
