Okay after [3] years of training in the hope of getting the mh shape I've come a long way. I've been fortunate that at 6'4" I was originally well proportioned - but in hindsight I'm sure I must have been bloody skinny. At my lightest I weighed 12 stone. I started to make gains lb by lb - Anthony got involved and helped me with my routines etc. Eventually, I made it up to almost 16 stone. There was a bit of inevitable fat attached, but for a hardgainer - which I [did] consider myself, I think that's a fair way to have come. Since then, I've cut back to try and get some definition with the hope that all the effort was worth it.
- it was worth it btw. The progress I made was really noticeable during the bulk up and now, I'm considered the big guy. I get asked if I play rugby regularly (and I never used to get that) so in that respect all the hard work has paid off (of course, it's not all about appearance - but let's just work with that for the moment)...
But I've never acheived the goal that I originally set out to do... And that was to get the MH figure. I might have got bigger but I'd hardly say I own the body that I desire, and now, I seem to find myself at a crossroad where I don't really know which way to go.
My current results have not produced the MH shape despite having cut back. I'm not as big as I'd like to be and I think MH wouldn't bother looking twice because.. I'm just... so... average.
But from what I understand, I'm around the biggest I can expect to be for my height so there's not much room for manouvre there and cutting doesn't seem to have provided much in the way of results.
Here's my stats (which haven't changed for a while:
Here's some photos too (they're not the most flattering jim jam shots, but you get the idea) - but where do I go from here everyone? I'm confused right now, and I want to continue making progress somehow - towards my goals.
At the moment, I've just moved onto the Anthony's six-pack plan (seemed to make sense as I was cutting)
Look forward to everyone's comments. The plan is to update this regularly now so you can follow my improvements (and so can I!)
I wouldn't have thought that was your waist size, you obviously carry it well!
Do you have access to a gym?
In terms of routine, why not stick to something simple, like compound moves based programme with bench press, squat, deadlift, shoulder press and some sort of back exercise (pullup, cable row, bent over row). Supplement with one or two isolations for whichever are your weakest points?
I'm going to be starting the stronglifts 5x5 programme soon

cheers phoenix - do you think that a 36 is too much then? I think I'll give this programme a go. It looks quite good. When are you going to start it?
I'm going to post details of what I had for food today - which will hopefully be typical of what I have ona normal day. See what the panel think.
I have learnt from all my cycles of cutting and bulking is that it is best to bulk first. Then it is a) easier to lose the fat as muscle is more metabolic and b) it is rubbish working damn hard to chisel your abs then slowly see them vanish on a bulk.
I'd say add a significant amount of muscle first. If you only add a bit you will spend ages making a little bit of progress, then cutting, then making a little progress and so on. Go all out and get big first.

I think I'm in agreement there, but I have added a fair amount of bulk since I started, and from what I understand, there's not much room for manouvre when it comes to added any additional bulk - doo you agree/disagree?
