The letter said
"The purpose of this letter if advise you that your vehicle was monitored being driving at excessive speed through our communities. The speed recorded was 37mph and I ask for your compliance with the speed limit in the future.
.......
Please note that any prosecution for speed will incur a minimum fine of £60 and 3 penalty points".

isn't that just local people with a speed camera who monitor you?
we have an area like that near here, I usually shove my car in second gear as I drive past them asbo style....
I didn;t think they could do anythign anyway, as they aren't reliable/licensed whatever. There's usually a beardy mr. homewatch type guy who waves the radar detector at any car he sees, and some helper person writing down the plate numbers and speed.

It seems they were and the man did have a beard.
I can understand why they have a community scheme because the county council will not approve speed cameras in that area. I was contracting at an office on the same road for a few weeks and this happened on the first day. The road before has a 60mph limit and if I went straight instead of turning left, I would be joining the motorway.
He gives a disapproving look when you have been speeding and after a few days, I could let who has been speeding but just looking at his face.
