Now that I live practically in the country side and we have very minimal light polution, I tend to look up a lot more - especially in the sunmmer when I could lay in the garden and watch with a log fire on!

My daughter has a telescope at our caravan, where the sky is very clear.
These two pictures were taken through it, using only a camera phone.
Last month she saw a whole galaxy cluster within Herecules.

Yep. When I am in the countryside away from city light pollution I spend hours looking up.
Love it.
Makes you realise how insignificant we are.

Yes, but light pollution in London is so awful now :( I can remember being able to see more stars a decade ago.
Which is what makes trips to cornwall or Lakes district so fantastic - the night sky! I could easily sit and stare for hours.
