I know we rant about this from time to time but two of them are driving me nuts at the moment.....
The Haribo advert where the dad is being grilled by his kids about the 'fried egg' ones.......what's going on with the little girl? Do we really find it adorable and amusing to be spoken to in that tone? I KNOW it's a joke but I think it goes with the 'spoiled little madam' business some parents seem to relish... being spoiled is just like it sounds, if you spoil a cake it's BAD not even more delicious!
Little girls don't have to be docile and cloying but, fried eggs sweeties or not, don't lets encourage any kids to address adults in that 'I'm in charge' tone. Bloody hell.
I'm in charge!
The other one is that lovely woman with the curly hair......what's she doing spending a fortune having it straightened? What's that about? Grrrr.
OH...... another one, that stupid Impulse advert where the woman is being undervalued... the solution, 'get yourself a new smell' to 'put the romance back'. Why should SHE have to take any action? Tell him to bugger off, more like, and go out smelling of soap or last weeks perfume, that's fine. This one reminded me of that awful song... 'hey, little girl, comb your hair, wear your make up... soooon he'll walk through the door......' ... good job, pass him the potato peeler and the hoover and let him get on with it.
:-P
I'm glad I don't watch much telly any more.
