A thread for all the things that piss you off down the supermarket, no matter how large or small
I'll start, Morrisons have cheesed me off with their fresh soups. I get one every weekend to have with my sarnies, half on Saturday, the other half Sunday
The price hase reduced from 99p per carton to 49p. Great you would think, but they've wartered down the soup thus making it crap. I'd rather pay double the price for the original soup
Gits
Also, old people of a weekend, why do they clog the aisles on a Saturday morning when surely they have the whole week to shop?
I would love to research into every ones behaviour in these places. I wonder which times it peaks and which times it is quiet. I reckon peaks could be lunch time, when people get time off to quickly come in and buy. So that be between 12-2pm
then the next peak would be school end time between 3 and 5.
I reckon less busiest in the morning between 7-10am and then a period between 5- 7 but that is debatable. Although I have been there in the early hours like 2-3 am. Pretty quiet but lots of shit going on.
Okay now about the rants.
1. I really hate it when I've got a little basket with 10 items and the person in front of my has got a trolley full of enough food to feed a rugby squad. Then that person never offers for you to go ahead. Even after asking they say no. How annoying is that?
2. Staff that work there that are so rude and never smile. No mannerism for some of them. Not a good impression.
3. People that are not disabled or don't have children but still seem to park in places designed for these people. Then seeing a real disabled person not being able to park in these places that includes women with kids. Films!! :)
Supermarkets in general - always so busy during the day, mums and grannies without manners using shopping trolleys as battering rams, queues, kids running around, etc etc
Best solution, so late at night - but then you usually sacrifice availabilty of some stuff.

True say, plus a lot of stocking up so staff working on the shop floor getting in the way.
They make really good money Tesco do!!! REALLY good.
WOMEN WITH TROLLIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They can't drive so what makes them think they can control a shopping trolley.
Ignorant people who block the aisles with their trollies.
Smelly people who walk past the shampoo and soaps aisle.
I hate supermarkets in general. I do my best to avoid at all costs. The meat is shit and over priced. The veg is mutated and over priced. The deli counter is overpriced. Get yourself down to your butchers and local deli. Much better choice and the same price (which is in real terms cheaper because the quality is so much better.)
Even better, learn to grow your own veg. I'm a numpty in the garden but I'm reading up on growing veg.
This year I had onions (red and white), green peppers, broad beans, marrows, beetroot, strawberries, blackberries, mint, aubergines, cucumbers and potatoes.
I love growing potatoes the most. No doubt about it Wes the satisfaction of growing your own crop exceed that feeling you get in Tesco. If you need some tips never hesitate to ask mate :)

We order online and get it delivered. It costs around 4 quid, but since by time you drive there and back and (if you're doing a weekly shop) amble around getting everything - plus the stress - that few quid is easily used up in that time. Plus the missus often finds discount codes online which negate the delivery cost.
And since it only take 5 minutes (once you've done it a couple of times and all your favourites are stored) to do your shop online, it's a win win!
Also she uses a site which tracks how much your shop would cost in all the major supermarkets so if you find out it's cheaper elsewhere, you can checkout with them instead, and you get iPoints and other online bits and pieces that come in handy at Christmas!

ETA: This is the site she uses: MySupermarket.co.uk (It's also one of those annoying "Wish I'd thought of that" business ideas!)

That's impressive Pete!
Thanks if you got the time, space and patience you should give it a go. It is fun and enjoyable.
You could start preparing this Autumn to be ready for next Spring around April/May time that is when I start to sow the seeds. The key is preparing the ground before that time.
