They say manufacturing in the UK is in decline, but I reckon manufacturing furniture for fatties will probably be a boom sector!!!!

Have a self inflicted health problem from smoking, drinking, fornication etc and can't afford private healthcare? Its sorted, WE pay for it.

If you were dumb enough to use Heroin or get addicted to drugs, WE pay for your treatment.

If you were stupid enough to have a child at a young age and now require funding from your council and a free gaf. WE pay for it.

If you are too lazy or stupid to get a job and you are on the dole, don't worry because WE pay for it.

Not f*cked living life like a normal person commit crime and go to prison because there you can bodybuild and play pool, snooker and darts. Why? Because WE pay for it.

If you have savings and own a house, and need care in your old age - YOU pay for it.

If you are a bank and go broke, don't worry, the taxpayer will cover your losses.

I agree 100% Scienceboy. Cut waste and there has to be a limit to how long a person can stay on the dole or receive benefits.

Example, I used to know someone who worked as 3D artist but more lazy than a sloth and has been on the dole for a long time. He kept turning down job offers simply because the office was too formal, too strict, salary was not big enough, the company is too small, the office is too far, etc.

Oh and he drinks booze like water. His brother does not work either and yet has 3 kids, PS3, Xbox360, and smokes like chimney.

This whole thing makes me sick and very demoralising.

If I was put in as head of benefits, one of the first things I would do is put in a time limit. If you can't find work (in desired sector/industry or whatever) within a certain time, then you need to retrain. Simple. The long you stay on the dole, the less employable you are.

The saddest thing being about all this hospital stuff, alot of the new hospitals are PFI.
As such they arent on the government balance sheet (and arent included in any government debt figures). All of these need to be paid back by future tax payers.
Yet another way for the government to print money without doing it obviously, its not just the banks.

Also....

Local councils in England and Wales are already shelling out tens of thousands of pounds on "fat-friendly" services, like widening crematoria furnaces.

Would it not be cheaper to suck the fat out of these people? Just like the zip files -- you "compress" dead fat people to save space.

Also it makes more sense to increase tax on "bad" food like crisps, etc.

I don't smoke or do drugs, nor ever be obese so WTF do I have to pay for that if I am NEVER going to use the these "services"? That's daylight robbery! Enough rant from me.

*wonders if this should be moved to Rant forum....

They already do that, well in Scotland anyway. They stop your benefits after bit.

I wonder if the time will come that a government will say "enough is enough" and abolish the NHS and replace it with an insurance backed medical scheme like seen in the US or Europe or would that option never be considered as it would be political suicide,

I think the biggest mistake of the welfare system is incentivising reproduction.

Any idiot child can get pregnant.
Then our hard earned taxes house them, feed them, and indeed encourage them to have more because the more kids, the more money....

Surely reproducing offspring when you are without the resources to look after an innocent child should be wholeheartedly discouraged by the Government...
