Has anyone else picked up this book at all? If you have a voyeuristic tendency, or just enjoy a good graphic romp around the London sex trade then definitely pick up this book.
I had the idea that this might have been for an interesting read, but in the end was quite let down. After the first four chapters, I came to understand why the book was written by Anonymous. I would not put my name to this second-rate-lad’s-mag-serial-disguised-as-a-book either!
It starts out with an interesting enough premise, where you are lead into a politico’s bedroom life both at home and eventually the seedier streets of the London sex industry. What did make the book mildly interesting for me is that we get an occasional glimpse of our politician’s emotions, as well as his peccadilloes. In some places, I even found myself associating with the character- particularly when he talks about the furtive time when, after one particular erotic experience as a young man of thirteen, “… the pattern of my adolescent fantasies had been set.” Little bits of the book, like this one, rang true for me.
I would love to know what other people think of it!
