This Italian's trying to be a cut above the rest, but the prices that way inclined too. Ever been there?

The octopus sounds nice- not to mention the watermelon granita!

I wonder- how was the wine list? (Like any Italian place worth it's salt did not have a decent one!)

If I am ever up that way I am going to stop in- but on your recommendation I am not going to make it a destination!

We ought to do wine lists too. I'll ask Humayun.

My best friend lives around the corner and he said it's not very good! If you want decent Italian then it has to be The River Cafe, still fantastic, great location great wine list, a bit pricey but great for a special occasion..

This place is at the end of our road and we have been going since it opened.. fully recommended.

The food is fantastic and the wine equally so.. if you can't decide ask Toni, partner and sommelier by trade. I have never been anyplace else where the owners are so enthusiastic about food and what they are trying to achieve.

This is not your usual Italian and brings to Surbiton the fine dining experience it desperatly needed.

GO!

I went to a party at the weekend in Surbiton and everyone I spoke to said that they were very disappointed with it. Overpriced, bad service, food not cooked properly and not hot enough, poor wine list and not a great atmosphere, it's a shame because it looks nice and Surbiton certainly lacks a quality restaurant.
All the guys I know that went are senior managers or partners for Accenture, MPMorgan, PCW, Credit Swiss, Lloyds etc etc, which is just the sort of clientele it should be keeping happy/attracting. I would be surprised if it closed soon, they need to sort it out, they should take a look at Chez Bruse in Wandsworth that’s on the money!!
