Glue!!!
I'm getting very used to the phrase "Daddy can fix it" when anything breaks. I'm normally crap at fixing things, but I've had good success glueing many of Tom's toys back together so he now thinks I can fix anything!
It doesn't help that I got a battery operated solder iron at Christmas and have fixed a few electronic toys (simple things like connections have snapped through being banged around).
What brought it to mind is that I just hot-glued a policeman's badge back on his hat in time for his dressing up day at Pre-School.
Anyway, as a parent - that's something you'll need - glue, lots of different kinds!

When my eldest was little and broke anything he always said "Daddy can mend it in the garage."
The last time he said it was when he had just burst his red balloon......I was never such a hero again.
