Im not an apple 'fan boy' or anything but im more than happy with my 5G ipod :)
Perhaps unlike a lot of other people I use it a lot to watch telly/videos ive DL'd from places like uknova. The only downside is that you have to covert videos to MPG4 format before you can watch them. Having said that, i use a piece of software called 'Videora' which is quicker (and cheaper) than the other alternative of burning stuff onto DVD. My understanding is that the Zune is alot more 'video friendly' than the ipod (it plays a variety of different formats), so if i was to get one, it would be for that.
At the moment I am much more interested in purchasing a 'memory chip' based mp3 player for the gym, because HD players arent really very good for running with. I notice that this little baby is out on monday, and im very very tempted, especially since it would just clip onto my tshirt or shorts - i dont like having to stick my ipod down my pants when im wearing shorts with pockets :)

oh, BTW,
im not some sad git who spends half his life watching telly or movies on a tiny 3 inch screen. I plug my ipod into my TV (via a bog-standard 3 pin camcorder cable) and watch it on a big screen :)
