Talk / Fitness / Lose weight / Am I eating enough?

Hi

Ive been going to the gym and trying to eat sensibly for about 11 weeks now, and during that time have gone from weighing 205lbs to 183lbs (oh, and im 6'1)
I dont have any weight goal in mind, but im keeping myself motivated by a desire to do some pull ups

To be fair, my diet was pretty dreadful (Snickers for Breakfast, beers after work etc) and I was doing no exercise at all, so when i started the new way of life the weight just dropped straight off me.

After looking at some of the suggested diets on this site, Im starting to wonder if im eating enough? (or eating too much, for that matter)

A normal day consists of something like this... (Oh, and im an absolutely terrible creature of habit! Were it not for the fact that im married, and given half the chance, I would eat exactly the same thing every single day! )

Breakfast
Bran Flakes with Semi Skimmed Milk

Snack
Piece of Fruit (Banana, Apple, Orange or Kwiwi)

Lunch
Homemade Chicken Salad Sandwich on a Granary Roll without Butter or Mayo

Snack
Piece of Fruit (Banana, Apple, Orange or Kwiwi)

Dinner
something like Chicken or Prawn Salad, or Stir Fry, or Grilled Chicken & Veggies, or Chicken Liver Salad, or Veggie Burgers with Pita Bread.

Im also drinking about 3 litres of cold Water a day

On top of this, im going to the gym 3 times a week and doing

Pull Ups
Chest Press
Shoulder Press
Rev Lat Pull Downs
Tricep Push Downs
Pec Deck
Abdominal Crunchs
Squats
30 minutes on Treadmill

Im still loosing 1-2lb a week, which i believe is quite healthy, but what concerns me is that im burning off as much muscle as i am fat

does anyone have any thoughts on this?

cheers
zym

it's really hard to make any comments on without sizes/weight of your food.

I think its an adequate amount. If you have access to a caliper I recommend keeping track of your body composition over the weeks to see if you are indeed losing more muscle than you ought to be. But if your goal is to do as many pullups as possible, having a light bodyweight is desirable.

I agree. I'm no expert at all (I hope someone will step in and tell me off if I'm wrong) but I'd say for your size (and your work out schedule) it doesn't really seem like you are eating enough.

Your healthy eating plan looks similar to mine and I'm a) female and b) 5 foot 6.
