Kelly Brook's ex Jason Statham reprises his role as no nonsense bullet dodging mercenary Frank Martin. We think yawn... What do you think?

This film was made to be tounge in cheek. There are some ridculous moments in the film, but if you take it for its meant to be, an all action and manic film, you'll enjoy it. It won't win any awards, but its fun.

I agree with training12, take it lighthearted (it's no classic) and it's enjoyable enough.

Also, I don't know Jason's martial arts background but he acts like he has a lot of experience (compared to people like Eric Roberts in Best of the Best).

That's acting for you Andy!

I understood him to be a gymnast or diver or something... and with that level of discipline, flecibility and sporting skill etc he should have no difficulty getting the basics and making it look good... with the help of decent editing.

I understand it's acting, but sometimes actors just can't pull moves off well enough to look skilled. It's normally relatively easy to pick someone who's done it for a considerable amount of time and someone who's done 3 months "intensive" training.

In fact, having just done a quick search I've found a couple of links that seem to say he's done martial arts for a while: Ropy of Silicon Profile and IMDB Biography. Neither are amazingly concrete sources, but both suggest a pointer...

I'd disagree though that with a high level of sporting discipline and fitness/flexibility he should have no difficulty making it look good - it would be easy for a magazine shoot or publicity photos ("hold your leg up" then someone puts him in the right position), but on film you can pick holes in people's technique very easily and it's painfully obvious if people don't know what they're doing.

Man, you've got some odd tastes in women! :-)

Really dark eyes and permanently looks like she used 50% mace and 50% mascara...

I'm same here, right away I can tell if they really do the arts or not!
