I don't know your MA background, but for me it's come from years of teaching people. You know the mistakes beginners make and you know the mistakes black belts make....and everyone in between.

There's certain people you watch and you can just enjoy their skills (Philip Rhee in Best of the Best, Jet Li in Romeo Must Die), but others you watch and you think - you really need to spend a few more hundred hours practicing that move, you've done it for like 5 minutes and it shows (yes Obi-Wan, Ep2/3 - I'm talking to you).
