That's what microsoft do, rip off others. Everyone should get Firefox, much safer.

I downloaded IE7 Beta a couple of months ago. I don't think it's a beta version anymore and you've been able to get the finished version from Microsoft Downloads for a few weeks now.

I prefer it to the previous IE versions but understand it's both bug ridden and full of security holes. The only bug I've noticed is that it crashes and shuts down maybe once a day. God knows what risks I'm taking with the security holes I read about.

Maybe I should try FireFox which I believe IE7 is based on? What's the latest version of FireFox and where should I download it from?

Firefox

Seems we are upto version 1.5

Most things new in IE7 have been on firefox for a while, Firefox is also secure and won't ask you to get a security update every other day.

Maybe I was too quick to recommend Firefox.

Compared to IE7 I'm finding webpages slow to load, pop-ups in seperate browser windows - poker, porn, etc... and more reports of spyware issues from spyware scanners - Spybot, Adaware and the spyware scanner that comes with the paid for version of AVG Internet Security.

I find myself using IE7 more than Firefox as it's faster and the on screen text is displayed better.

Since I get less spyware results in spyware scanners after using IE7 I'm starting to trust it more as well. I researched the reported security flaw that's been find and everyone says it's minor.

Am I mistaken?
