Hi guys

Day off today - Great ;-)

Feel sore in my arms, chest and legs but in a good way.
Hope that's just the magic working!

Had to use will power yesterday to stay the hell away from the chippie!

Science Girl is looking to do the programme too.
She would obviously do the gym beginner routine.
Would it be ok for her? Different calorie intake etc?

Update

Had a great work out this morning.
The damn gym isn't open on Monday because of the bank holiday. So trying to think of a way of not missing a session.
Any suggestions?

I am tempted to weigh and measure myself later tonight. How often should I do it? Weekly? Every other week?

Any comments or suggestions appreciated!

Thanks

You're the second person to ask that so we're going to put some extra copy into the program at some stage!

How tall is she and how much does she weigh?

You could do a home workout that day, no problem.

How far are you into the program now? What exercises are you doing?

Every other week is good. First thing in the morning, before breakfast and after visiting the bathroom.

Keep it up!

Hi Anthony,

Thank you for your reply. Much appreciated.

Just to answer some of your questions...

Science Girl is 10 and a half stone and 5'3".

I have just finished week one. Working on a monday, wednesday & friday schedule.

I went with the Gymrat level as I intend to lose around 28lbs or 12.5kgs.

Workout
Leg Press & Dumbell Pullover
Machine Bench Press & Prone Dumbbell Row
Machine Shoulder Press & Dumbbell Curl
Weighted abdominal Crunch & Dumbbell Stiff Legged Deadlift

I also have a swim every tuesday for about 50 minutes. Hope this won't affect anything else!

Again thanks for any advice!

SB

Oh, I also must admit that I am petrified doing the Dummbell Stiff Legged Deadlift!
My balance is kind of crap and I worry that I will f*ck over onto my face!
I had never done that exercise before.

Hi guys,

Unfortunately I've been struck down with the flu.
Dying slowly here with my Lemsip.

I was making good progress too :-(

So, only one and a half weeks in I have lost 10 lbs.

Sorry I tell a lie. 12lbs I am now 15st 2lbs.

I don't think I can workout although I would like too. I just think it would make my flu worse.

Any suggestions on damage limitations, so that my flu does not really effect my programme???

Flu sucks.

hi Science boy, sorry to hear that you are ill. You're feeling crappy not from the virus itself but from the body releasing chemicals to tell you to take rest, so do as you;re told!

Don't take the illness as an excuse to comfort eat, stick to a clean diet, plenty of fruit and veg, fluid etc. If you find your appetite suppressed, some glucose powder in fruit juice will help keep your energy levels up.

Muscle building, sperm production and the immune system all need zinc - so perhaps stock up on zinc supplements (dont overdose!).

Best thing is to rest, let yourself recover properly then hit the gym twice as hard!

Right,

Sickness out of the way and want to get back on track.
Hit the gym this morning and glad I did.

Will post current pic & measurements on Sunday to see how I am faring at the end of 3 weeks.

Hope last week doesn't have to much impact.

Rock on.

Ok,

So one workout left in week 3.
Glad I got back on track after crap illness.

As I mentioned earlier Science Girl wanted to do the program too, so I am bringing her to the gym this evening to start.

Also, decided to head to Argos after the gym and buy a proper digital weighing scales. I have always had problems judging portion size. Especially with meat, pasta and rice etc. I used to just chuck it all in 'type of thing'. Hoping weighing scales will help me to judge accurately and control calorie intake.

Tanita models look relatively good. 1gr discrepancy. Anyone else use weighing scales in order to ensure calorie restriction???

Good stuff SB. It'd be good to see how you've got on. Keep up the good work.
