Thanks to new reader solidjubilee for this thread. So if you take a lunch box (or pail) to work, what's in it?

Here's a few ideas PJ posted in the snacks thread to get you going...

Get smart snack savvy – these rescue a hungry man when all around him is junk. They quell the munchies so you resist the call of vending machine crisps and chocolate or canteen chips. Stash a tin opener, plastic picnic plate and cutlery too and you double your quick food fix options.

Ryvita crispbread and bites
Oatcakes
Bagels
Rye bread
Rice cakes
Weetabix – nice “raw” with a mug of tea and you may dunk if I don’t have to watch.
Pitta bread

Fresh fruit
Fruit tinned in juice
Dried fruit, apricots, cranberries, raisins
Unsalted nuts – don’t go mad on these as at 600 plus calories per 100g they are licensed to kill diet plans.

Long life skimmed milk / soya milk
Tinned beans
Tinned fish
Tinned soup

Sugar free mints
Low fat tinned rice pudding – same a Muller Rice with a longer shelf life.

If there is a fridge at work you can keep the following fillings. Combined with the bread options they are a neat alternative to the fuss of fixing sandwiches before you come to work.

Low fat coleslaw
Salad leaves
Low fat cheese slices
Low fat turkey/ chicken/ quorn slices
Ready cooked skinless chicken portions
Natural yoghurt
Low fat hummus

Well I'm still on Anthony's weight loss plan ... so I'm taking in with me a sandwich of 4 turkey slices, a whole load of spinach and some chopped up cucumber all within a couple of slices of wholemeal bread.

And a Muller Light.

Morning all, just thought I'd share our new food thread with you. If you take packed lunches to work, what do you have? Cheers, W

Usually take a fruit shake that i make in the morning, which has Glutamine/Protein in it, then some turkey/chicken sandwiches. Also a couple of apples and bananas.

Let's see:
1 small tub cottage cheese
5 Ryvita Breaks
2 X wraps with sliced beef, cheese and salad
75 grams peanuts
1 X apple

I eat pretty much the same thing every day, stops me getting confused in the morning when I have to prepare it...
