Killjoy company Philips is attempting to patent a technology where you'll know longer be able to skip through the ads on pre-recorded programmes. You will be able to pay to fast forward though. Time to vote with your feet?

All so that they get more money from advertising companies? I would switch the tv off for 2 minutes during the ad's, just out of spite.

Don't tell me they have a special remote control that blocks all the 'off' and 'mute' buttons from being used during ad breaks aswel...

Nothing to do with spite... they have to finance the shows somehow. We do live in a market economy!

I really like the ads anyway.....some of the best stuff on telly......is there any way you can just skip the programmes?

Dunno about Sat channels, not seen one in my travels. Although there's an astonishing number of titty jiggle channels (a la Babestation) under adult on Sky now
