Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett has welcomed US plans to send more than 20,000 troops to Iraq, but said the UK has no plans to do the same.

Note that she says that there are no plans "at the present moment".......well that's fine then isn't it....whoops, the moment's gone now. Wonder what there plans are now.

Personally, I think it would be very irresponsible to withdraw troops prematurely, so I guess that by committing to stay in Iraq and accepting responsibility for the situation I think Bush is doing the right thing for a change. I'm not really sure whether more troops will help in real terms though.
