I think Hillary would be good. She's got a backbone.

There are some harsh political realities that Obama's candidacy bring up.

The first is that Hillary is not a sure bet for the Democrats in 2008. Her biggest liability is not her gender, but rather her husband's legacy.

As for Obama himself, I think that what we are seeing here is positioning him to be a respectable running mate (VP) to the next President.

For my money- I would vote for a Clinton/Obama ticket in a heartbeat. There is a large slice of America that would not vote for a woman and what we call an "African American".

I am stuck because I think that the Dems really need to win the Presidency in 2008- and that we should probably should not waste our effort on a ticket that won't appear to a broad base of voters.
