I've just complete a weekend weapons course with my kungfu club. I learnt the whole of my pattern for the 7.5 foot "Heart piercing" staff which was really good fun and, in the true meaning of kungfu, hard work.

It's an amazing weapon if any of you are in to these things. The idea is to keep it vibrating whilst spinning, piercing the skies, thrusting and jumping.

The effect of a direct hit, if done correctly, was meant to have the same impact as the ending of Kill Bill 2...so I won't be trying it out on people unless I was attacked by a marauding gang of murderous kungfu fighters and I had to stand alone to win!

This is now my "personal" weapon for my club even though all the seniors do straight sword and the standard staff as well.

It adds a really exotic element to our classes now that we can all bring our weapons for patterns practice as well. Some are doing the quandou, the horse -cutter, the three section staff, daggers, spear, maces and straight sword.

It would be interesting to know if anyone else on here is doing any martial weapons training.
