More than half a billion pounds of National Lottery "good causes" money may be "cannibalised" to pay for the London 2012 Olympics, an official watchdog warns today.
The National Audit Office raises fears that the lottery cash diverted from local sports, heritage and charity projects to funding the games could be £575 million — £130 million greater than originally estimated.
