My immediate thought was that people who regularly self medicate with painkillers may be doing it to cure hangovers - high blood pressure may be exacerbated by drinking alcohol, so chicken and egg situtation.

Most headache's can be sorted with a bit of water as it is usually just dehydration, or that is what I am sure I have heard. Hardly take painkillers, only when it is really bad.
