Gahoo mentioned a FM07 challenge, but there is no point being one of bigger teams, as we want a difficult challenge. Watford was suggested and has been agreed by Gahoo and ChrisP.

We need to give others time to read this, so I suggest Saturday as a start date. although we can move this to Monday. Some people are busy during the week. I think 2 weeks would be enough for one to complete a season, but if you need more time then we would increase this to 3 or 4 weeks.

Initial aims:
i. Finish as high as possible in the league with Watford.
ii. Cannot use online community or FM editor.
iii. I also think cup games should be taken into account.

For example, if someone finishes 10th (assuming highest position), but someone else finishes 12th but takes Watford to the FA cup final, then the latter should win.

Okay lets start with Watford. Agreed?

Sounds good to me!

Shall we start a new thread where we can keep posting screens and keep us all updated with our progress?

We should do this as a start for the challenge. You need a screenshot of the Manager information section to check start dates and we also need a screenshot of the message from the Watford chairman.

Too end challenge:
screenshot of finish league table, as goal difference may be needed to take into account. Also, a screenshot of manager information, where it shows the final league position and wehere the cup runs ended.

Sounds perfect!

How I reckon we should work things is this.

- This thread should purely be for notices on the challenges and keeping track on how we're doing time wise.

- We each create another thread here in the Games forum to post screens and keep everyone up to date with the goings on in our games. Take a peek at the SIGames.com 'FM Stories' forum for an idea of what I'm getting at. Makes it all a lot more involved, and hopefully we'll all get nice and competitive ;-)

- Come the end date, we post a few final screens and we decided whether to continue for another season, or move on to another team/challenge.

How's all that sound?

Going into season two, may be tricky as some may be relegated. However, if we have two more people still in the league, then they can continue, if people like, for a second season. even those who got relegated, to if they got back up.

What we could also do, is let one person post the league progress every 10 games. For example, after games 10, 20 and 30 in the league, everyone can send me an email and I can post it on the website. Include cup games too. This would save space.

I'm in JT!

Watford sounds good to me.
Two weeks should be long enough for a season.

Also:-

• All participants must have the latest patch - V7.0.2 (can be downloaded here(85MB)

Good idea, but if we each had a thread on the go keeping things up to date as often as we wanted might make things much more interactive? Plus, it might encourage others to take a peek and put their name's down for the next challenge?

Oh, and as Gahoo says, we gotta have the latest official patch installed! No third party updates at all.

It all sounds good to me chaps. Maybe JT can do a summery of all the rules etc. before we get started?

Good one :-)

What about leaving training to your Assistant manager?

I think reserve games should be left to your Assistant, and training could be down to individual choice perhaps?

I think training should be down to the managers discretion as this is a part of the game that could give you the edge.
