Laptops are still too expensive for the specs you get. And upgrade potential is poor in comparison. I don't want to buy a new laptop just to get better graphics or better battery life.

I love my laptop and have had 4 in the past 6 years. (admittedly my first got stolen at uni and I had to replace it prematurely and the one I have now replaced my third one as an impulse buy rather than actually needing a new one).
I love their convenience. Particularly with Wireless and the performance of my laptop is sufficient for everything i use it for, including high intensity 3D graphic games such as MMORPG games.
I'd prefer to use a laptop at work if I was able to!!

I do wish they were cheaper though!
I hate using a laptop's monitor and keyboard though. So I hook up a external keyboard, mouse and monitor when i can which kind of removes the portability factor.

Agree with SG and if something goes wrong it costs a lot more then a desktop. I would only get a laptop, if it helped my work otherwise I will not.
It does save space, but that can be a negative thing too, with it being small.
I have an apple mac laptop, it was more convenient at the time. I have a PC at work, the laptop lets me carry work home (oh joy) and does everything useful. It is annoying to type on, and screen is a bit small for watching dvds, but I have no spare space in my room so convenient to have portable computer that I can store away.
