Oddjob’s hat goes for £18k

The steel rimmed hat used by Oddjob in the James Bond movie Goldfinger has reached £18,161 at auction

The buyer, Anthony Pugliese III, is a collector of Bond memorabilia who wants to display it in a pop culture museum being developed in Florida.

The interactive auction, held in New York by Los Angeles based Julien's Auctions, also saw a belt worn by Elvis Presley during his 1972 performance in Honolulu go for £35,674 - more than six times the auction estimate.

Other items sold included interview tapes of the late John Lennon for £32,430 and the red evening gown worn by Dustin Hoffman in the movie Tootsie, which went for £14,269.
