Wembley hit by privies problem

Another day, another delay for the national stadium. This time it's the wrong kind of sewer pipes

Ground movement beneath the new £757m showpiece of English football has led to pipes buckling. Engineers admit the problem could take up to eight months to fix.

"Water and waste from flushed toilets would have backed up and overflowed if no repairs were done", a worker told The Sun.

"On match day, when tens of thousands of people use the toilets at the same time, that just doesn't bear thinking about."

Contractors Multiplex say the privies problem - we can feel a few Blackadder quotes coming on - won't further delay the stadium's opening.

Wembley was due to be completed last autumn. More shambolic tales coming soon no doubt.
