Owen may miss World Cup

England's top scorer may not make it to Germany after more surgery on his injured foot

Michael Owen was back in surgery late last week to replace the screw in his broken metatarsal with a longer one, says today's Soarway Sun. It's unlikely he'll play before the end of the season.

It gives Sven a dilemma. The Newcastle striker won't have played football for five months before England's friendly against Hungary.

"You would not put your house on Michael Owen playing in the World Cup", said a club insider.
