The Babyshambles frontman has allegedly spent over 170,000 (around £100,000) on crack and heroin.
"I don't take drugs to deaden me", Doherty said. "I take 'em cos I love 'em."
"It would be interesting to film someone like me trying to detox because then people would see the pressures, how hard it is."
Last week Doherty appeared to kick a journalist leaving a London court hearing.
The case was adjourned until April 20 for sentencing.
