Microsoft boss bans own children from using iPods

Steve Balmer's gone to extraordinary new lengths to protect market share by banning his children from using Apple's music player

But the ban doesn't stop there. Balmer won't let his kids use Google either.

"I've got my kids brainwashed", he told Fortune magazine. "You don't use Google, and you don't use an iPod."

This is coming from the head of a 285 billion dollar corporation. What next? Banning Oxygen?

Balmer also hinted at an "innovative proposition" to trounce Apple's world beating MP3 player.

"In five years are people really going to be carrying two devices? One that's their communications device and one for music? We want to be in that game", he said.
